About Us

The I. G. Marston Co. was founded in 1844 as a manufacturer of hand and foot powered saws, located then in Boston. Through the years our company diversified, and has been manufacturing precision non-metallic flexible washers since the mid 1870's. After more than twelve decades of servicing our customers from the Boston address, we moved in 1968 to our present 15,000 sq ft. facility in Holbrook.

The new plant offered us the opportunity to expand our production capabilities with room for technological advances in machining and office systems. Our philosophy has remained the same; we provide a quality product, to exact specifications, delivered on time and at an honest value.

Stocked Washers: I.G. Marston Co. currently offers non-metallic washers available from stock in over 125 sizes in the following materials:

  • Nylon
  • Teflon
  • Fibre
  • Neoprene

**In addition, we also stock MS51859, NAS549 and NAS1515 sizes, and can manufacture MS, NAS and other sizes not listed.

Custom Specifications: On various parts are welcome for quotation, as we can make tooling to accommodate your needs. You may choose from our inventory of over 2,000 special washer dies, beginning with inside diameters of .025" and outside diameters of .060". Our products are made from an extensive list of non-metallic materials in thicknesses from .001" to .125". We are capable of producing a variety of specialized parts, including washers, gaskets, insulators, seals, discs and more.

Manufacturing Processes: For high density materials such a nylon, fibre and PVC we employ a high-speed stamping process, and use a die-cutting process for softer materials such as rubber, cork and felt. The integration of these two processes within our facility allows us to make our products in the most cost effective manner with the strictest quality assurance.

Quality: We take pride in the quality of our products, and in our Statistical Process Control (SPC) System which unfailingly monitors our production output to ensure that the first piece and the last piece of each run are both of first-rate quality. The I. G. Marston quality system is ISO 9001: 2000 certified, and all our production personnel are trained to follow strict quality procedures.

Customer Satisfaction: Now, as in 1844, customer satisfaction is our primary goal. Through carefully maintaining our standard of excellence as well as introducing new technologies, processes and materials, we plan to provide innovative and dependable solutions to our customers' needs for many years to come.
